Lobotome - Organizing for your Cranium

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

LobotoMe Today I’m dishing about a product line that gives us back our sanity, and works efficiently to help us get organized. It’s all about LobotoMe paper planners that are sure to get us all on track and scheduled!

There’s something really satisfying and powerful about making lists, I’ve always been a real list maker and love to have all my duties laid out in front of my eyes. When I take that extra step to write it down, I see greater results in the amount of things that I can accomplish. However, I’m not perfect and I definitely need a little help getting everything prioritized, and then staying on track. I was sent the organizeMe Weekly Planner, and got right to work filling in my weeks activities. This planner doesn’t disappoint, in fact they have really covered the bases with spots for my entire week full of appointments. For the Mom who doesn’t exactly put herself as a priority, the Weekly organizeMe planner offers reminders to drink your water, take vitamins, and hit the gym (you can add in - Get A Massage, Pedicure and New Outfit if you like, that’s what I did). It’s like having an assistant that really cares about you right there in your own writing.

I loved that this pad included 60 pages on white recycled paper (1 for each week) to take along with you, just tear off your week’s schedule and bring it along in your purse wherever you go. It’s all there at a glance. And since LobotoMe includes some additional pages, you can definitely help out another stressed out Mommy in need by giving her a LobotoMe, or at least a weekly page to make her feel that way. :) LobotoMe

The LobotoMe website is rich in humor and offers “goods to keep me sane”. Everything from a Mantra Poster for your wall, to PackMe travel pads for your next trip, Feed Me meal planning pad, Save ME to do list pad, even a HoneyDo note pad!By shopping LobotoMe products you are buying eco-friendly organization gear. And LobotoMe even offers a Brain Fog Blog with a great dose of “sanity saving tips…to save you from a trip to the looney bin”. So go check out the website today and get your very own LobotoMe! - Daria

Tip - I’ll have to check my schedule

Google CalendarYou know how we all have a bunch of new calendar’s kicking around our homes? Well, now is the time to transfer birthday’s and anniversary’s from your old calendar to your new one. I am sure many of you have already done it, but I wanted to remind you just in case! It is so handy to have a list somewhere that you add to when your siblings have kids, get married or do anything else that you want to remember - try to reserve for happy things only ;). I like to include the year so you always have some idea how old every one is.

Take the time to make your list as complete as possible so that it is always an accurate reference at your fingertips. There are revolving calendars available, but I don’t really like them. I find that I never look at them (I have one and just took it down to update my new calendar) and the month it was on was October! Personally, I like setting my list up in Excel (or you could use your computer’s calendar program) and updating as things come up (programs like Google Calendar have a free calendar you can use online). Have fun playing detective and getting all the info you need!

Find - Franklin Covey Planner

Monday, January 7th, 2008

plannerEach new year, I search for a new portable calendar to carry with me. I previously had gone electronic (but I missed the pen on paper feel. Even though I think it is more efficient). In the past I’ve had a huge planner (I had multiple places that I needed to be - and was perfect for then),  a small calendar that fit in my purse (totally useless and never used),  now flash forward to my new wonderful find!! I am so excited about this one!

It is a Franklin-Covey product, and they are known world-wide for their classes on time management and accompanying planners. I have used them for years, but haven’t needed the super fat planner for a while. I finally found the perfect planner that is pretty, functional, large enough to actually fit useful information in, but still small enough that it fits in my purse (the page size is 4 1/8″ x 5 1/2″). It has a 2 page per week layout as well as a 2 page for a month at a glance. I am super thrilled with it! It is fun to open my purse and have a darling little calendar in there for all my scheduling on the go.

*While I was just looking this product up for the links, I noticed that for this week only, there is a 15% off the total purchase when you buy any binder and planner pages. The promo code is 18243 and expires 01/07/08. Lucky you! If you are busier, check out the larger planners as well. It is a great system - one that I have used for more than 15 years and have loved.Franklin Planner>

Holiday Regroup

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

Holiday Regroup Today’s tip focuses more on Christmas planning.  There are only a couple weeks left, and Today is the day you revisit your notebook and see how your list is going.

Check list:
Have you figured out what you are buying for people?
Have you finished your sewing projects?
Have you planned your meals with a calendar?
What about your Christmas baking - is it almost done?

Now is the time to regroup and refocus and get back into gear! You will want to be going back to your list a few times over the coming weeks to make sure you are still on target, and make any necessary adjustments. Can you still accomplish all that you want and still be sane?  If not, make some cuts.  It is far more important that you are happy for your sake and your family’s - everyone will enjoy the holidays SO much more than if you are a stress case with everything done and perfect. It’s not about Perfection, it’s about happiness.
