I try to do laundry ONLY IF I have time to put it all away. But sometimes it still takes an extra day which really is like a cloud hanging overhead.

Great tip! When I can get in the rhythm of doing one load a day, my life is so much easier. It makes it easier to wash sheets, blankets, coats, etc. that are not in the ordinary load.

The one thing I do that makes my laundry easy, is to hang it up immediately. In fact, I take out 3-4 pieces of clothing and keep the rest of the clothes in the dryer. That way, all my clothes are hung and unwrinkled. It is actually a peaceful time, alone in my laundry room, folding and hanging clothes and it only takes me minutes.

My little girl loves to sit on the washer and hand me hangars too!

Great tip Maja! I used to do this. I thought people were crazy, why would you wash, dry and fold and then not put away. Now that I have a toddler and am pregnant I am one of those people. I hate laundry and am constantly doing it, I usually put the clothes away so I can load up the baskets with the dirty ones and start the washing process again.
Also a good tip to do one load a day. I dread laundry because I am an all or nothing girl. I either do all of the laundry or I do none of it. But it doesn't have to be like that and it probably would be a lot easier if it wasn't.
I will try this tip, thank Maja and keep 'em coming!

I'm one of the gals who really struggles with this in my own home. Thank you Maja for this tip! It may seem very basic to those who do it already, but it really helps to have the reminder of how great it will feel to complete.

I carry all of my clothes back to my room to fold/hang up. As I do so, I either hang them up as they go on the hanger, or make piles on the bed of the folded clothes. Again, when done, I put all of the piles away. By doing this, I can't go to bed without finishing it.

I like to do all my laundry on Monday. Once we have kids I am sure this will change, but as it is now, it works great for us. I fold the dry clothes as I take them out of the dryer, and place them in a laundry basket on top of the washer. When the laundry basket is full, I carry it and put everything away. That is the only thing that keeps me from leaving all the clothes in the laundry room- emptying that basket every time it is full.

Love your laundry! Complete a full cycle of laundry each day by making sure that you put it all away (right away). Involve children by playing peppy music, and encouraging them to place their own clothing in drawers and towels in linen closet....
