Meet Ezra George - Mini Organizer!

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Well - it has been a little about 2 months since the last post and let me tell you 4 kids has left me feeling not so savvy or organized!!! But looking at little Ezra George makes it all worth while, right?

There is nothing that sets a screw into a tight routine like a baby who does not love sleep as much as his mama! So it has been a time of a few adjustments while all of us getting settled into a new “routine”! Thankfully we are getting into one now and I am ready to get back on the saddle. While there has been a hiatus of posts and shows, I have got a lot planned for the coming months and can’t wait to get on it! First thing on the agenda… Holy Cow CHRISTMAS! (How did it sneak up on me so quickly?!?) It is just around the corner and I am starting to panic just a little bit, so join me while I get my head back on earth and into the season of delightful madness. I can’t wait! - Maja

Tip - Pillow Talk

Monday, September 15th, 2008

I was sitting in the living room the other day looking at the pillows thinking it was time to throw them in the wash. Alas - I had cut off the care tags when I bought them and thrown them away. Now I am not 100% sure how to properly launder them! DANG!

While I sat there regretting not having saved them, I thought of a solution where to put those tags in the future. Create a file in your filing cabinet that is labelled “special laundry care items” for all these random items. When you cut the care tags off them, staple it to a 3×5 card with a heading of a description of the item, such as “fuzzy white living room pillows”. That way, when the time comes to figure out how the heck to care for it, you know you can refer to the file and always be able to properly take care of your belongings.

While this doesn’t solve my immediate problem, it will sure help in the future! Good luck with your own special care items and hopefully you don’t have too many disasters!!

Show #16 - Leftovers (the non-food kind)

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

This weeks show is all about Organizing to Completion, and that means dealing with all those pesky leftovers that you don’t quite know what to do with. The keys, bits of paper, odds and ends are all called “leftovers” around here.

Never fear friends, Maja gives practical advice on how to sort through the “leftover” rubble and give it a home or send it packing!
- Get the non-assigned items into one spot
- Use the Motto - Top to Bottom, Left to Right, focus, Focus, FOCUS! While you sort through
- Think “Are you sure you need it??”, and does it work?
- Consider where it should belong in your home
- Now place it there and remember where you’ve put it, write a list if needed

You’ll feel tidy right down to your toes when you incorporate these tips for Organizing to Completion. Time to tackle the leftovers around your home and pat yourselves on the back!

He’s Here!!

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

I am thrilled to announce the arrival of baby #4, a BOY, on Friday, Sept. 5! That was the “planned” date for inducing for months and when my doctor said he couldn’t do it - the little guy thoughtfully kept to the plan anyway. Yeah for being a good listener!!The delivery was fast and furious, no time for any pain management (nothing like delivering an all natural, posterior baby) . He weighed 8′11 and was 21 inches long. He is beautiful and perfect and despite thinking Friday I was SO done with childbirth, I think I could have 3 more! It is wonderful and I am loving him more than I thought possible. - Maja
